Design Tips for Hip & Cool Kids Rooms
May 29, 2015
With design trends constantly changing, Main Street Homes strives to incorporate hip features into all of our homes, built throughout the Richmond area. Rooms for children are no exception!
Themes are timeless and extremely popular ways to decorate a child’s rooms, with seemingly endless options. Choose a children’s TV series, favorite movie or even animal and the sky is the limit. Pull inspiration from characters in the show or movie, or the natural habitat of the animal. Butterflies inspire soft pastel tones, while lobsters are a little more stark and bold in color choices.
Color can be a huge tool when sprucing up a kid’s bedroom. Bold, vibrant colors can enhance and truly elevate a space to the next level. Having a painted piece of furniture with a bright, fun color can really spice up any bedroom. An accent wall or ceiling is a daring risk that always pays off– especially in your son's or daughter’s room.
Unique textures and patterns add depth to a space, which is incredibly important in all rooms of the home. Painted patterns on cabinets, burlap pillows or weathered wood frames can be used in tandem to really add that special touch to a child's space.
Children’s bedrooms have become more expressive than ever, and we have great fun creating idea spaces throughout our ten area model homes. Our model home tour is a great way to glean fresh ideas when designing your rooms.
