Fall Fun in RVA!

No matter if you’re a culinary enthusiast, music buff, beer connoisseur, or you’re just a hayride-loving guy or gal looking for a pumpkin patch, Main Street Homes has compiled a list of fun fall happenings in RVA. Don’t miss these autumnal happenings around town: 1776 at VA Rep With the Broadway smash Hamilton burning up the stages in   New York, interest in historical plays is as high-pitched as ever. Don’t miss 1776, a rousing celebration of American history,      starring Scott Wichmann as John Adams.  This Tony Award          winning musical highlights John Adams and the other founding          fathers as they spur the divided Continental Congress to vote for independence.  September 30-October 23, at November    Theatre, 114 W. Broad St. (va-rep.org)   Richmond Folk FestivalWhere else can you find 40   performers on 7 stages in 3 days?  Richmonders perennially love this festival for its eclectic mix of musical artists.  The         scene is Richmond’s historic riverfront, where the world comes          to us through international beats, bands, and traditions.  As the          biggest folk festival in the nation, RVA is proud to host for the 12th year in a row.  The Richmond Folk Festival is a crowd        pleaser for all ages and ears. Hogtoberfest is a celebration “high on the hog” in Church Hill.     Packed with family friendly activities, savory pork BBQ, and      stunning views of the city, this annual fall festival is a fun and tasty way to spend an October afternoon. Bring the kids for face painting, balloon art, music, crafts, and a pigskin ring toss. October 1, 12-7pm. Libby Hill Park in historic Church Hill.   Chesterfield Berry Farm Fall Festival and Total Terror Scream Park.  Mosey on down to Moseley to check         out Central Virginia’s only haunted corn maze.  If you dare,      tour the Total Terror haunted trail, Pear Orchard Asylum, and   Live Zombie Paintball.  If it’s all too terrifying, pop over to         the pumpkin patch and enjoy a hayride, pig race, moon      bounce, barrel train, or corn cannon.  Happening every   weekend in October at Chesterfield Berry Farm in Moseley, VA         in southern Chesterfield.  For more info, visit          http://chesterfieldberryfarm.com.   3rd ANNUAL OKTOBERFEST. You can’t let October pass you by without attending a proper Oktoberfest!  One of RVA’s most treasured locations - Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens - is hosting this year’s event. If you’ve never been, this is a great reason to take in the sights of Lewis Ginter’s Robins Tea House in the northside.  Enjoy live music, local beer, food, games, prizes and a food drive benefiting FeedMore’s Central VA Food Bank.  Oktoberfest will be held outdoors amid the lush gardens of RVA’s only botanical garden on October 29, from 11:00-4:00 p.m. Want to know more?  Visit http://www.lewisginter.org/event/oktoberfest/   Richmond Restaurant Week Are you ready to get your yummy on?  If so, don’t miss   Richmond Restaurant week.  What better way to sample       trendy, pricey restaurants without breaking the bank. If you’ve         missed it in the past, this fall is your chance to try some       delicious food and benefit two great causes, the Central Virginia Food Bank and Meals on Wheels.
