This recognition is presented to partners who make important contributions to energy- efficient construction. Main Street’s commitment to building ENERGY STAR certified homes demonstrates how far we go to construct a home that meets the high bar set by Energy Star. MSH earned the 100% ENERGY STAR certified home designation by putting our homes through more processes, inspections, testing, and verifications from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) than other builders. In fact, we are one of the few builders in Richmond to earn the 100% designation that demonstrates our commitment to ENERGY STAR performance guidelines. We are especially proud of this award because it reveals our commitment to our customers as well as the planet. By constructing our homes using energy efficient systems and appliances, we are reducing CO₂ emissions by 1,331 metric tons and avoiding the consumption of 3, 095 barrels of oil.
