About Henrico

Henrico County has a rich historical significance and was established in 1643 as one of the eight original counties.  There are many attractions in Henrico County, including the Richmond International Speedway (RIR), extensive shopping (Short Pump Town Center), and easy access to the Richmond International Airport (RIC) for travelers.  The location of Henrico makes it very accessible to Richmond, along with Washington D.C., Williamsburg, and Virginia Beaches.
The Henrico County Public Schools was the only school division in the nation to earn the “Best Communities for Music in Education in America” twelve years in a row.  Newsweek recognized four of Henrico High Schools as “America’s Best High Schools” in 2010.  Henrico County Schools have also received the U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award.
There are so many reasons to call Henrico County home.
