Independence Day will have a much greater significance this year for A1C David E. Rogers as he heads home from McGuire VAMC. Rogers was stationed in Spangdahlem, Germany when he received a traumatic brain injury in a car accident. Although the injury rendered Rogers a quadriplegic, he has regained some use of his limbs. Nevertheless, Rogers requires special care and uses a wheelchair. Because of this, Rogers, will be discharged to the care of his parents, Lauri and David Sr., and siblings Andrew, Aaron, Zoe, and Victoria. Rogers will be moving into a home design by Main Street Homes specifically for his continued journey toward recovery and toward personal independence.
