Cheers to a New Year and new color trends in 2022! Are you wondering what colors are in and what colors are out? Need a little inspo on your latest DIY project? Look no further!

There’s no time like the present for a little home refresh. Giving your home a fresh coat of paint is the perfect way to give your living space a facelift without knocking out walls or installing new hardware.

With everyone spending more time at home these days, homeowners are spending more time curating the feeling that they want to get from their home. some gravitating towards soothing neutrals while others immersing themselves in bright, uplifting colors.

We are also seeing a trending movement from using cooler tones to now using warmer tones in the home. Warm whites and beiges certainly give off a cozier feeling than neutral and cooler tones.

Let’s sum up what we are seeing in 2022:

  1. Gray and pure white are OUT and warm neutrals are in.
  2. Warmer colors are the new standout this year.
  3. Bronze is replacing black.
  4. Light pinks and blushes are moving to a deep warm rose.
  5. Blues and greens are still popular, now with mainly gray or yellow undertones.

While 2022 may leave a lot in question, one thing is for sure…2022 is all about self-care and well-being. Our friends over at Hound Paint, based out of Richmond, Va.,  predict greens will begin popping up in more homes, signifying nature and regrowth.

Most paint companies have chosen a calming green for the color of the year, including Hound Paint with their pick, Sage My Name

Upgrade your space with these new and old classics:

  1. Benjamin Moore - October Mist
  2. Sherwin-Williams  - Evergreen Fog
  3. Pantone - Very Peri
  4. Valspar - Nature Inspired Palettes
  5. Behr - Breezeway
  6. PPG - Olive Sprig
  7. Glidden - Guacamole
  8. Dunn Edwards - Art and Craft

It’s safe to say that nature inspired greens are dominating this year! Fear not if green doesn’t fit into your current aesthetic. We have a few color palettes to keep you on trend.

Keep it neutral with an off-white, cream, or greige. Gone are the plain white walls and enters the common theme of nature inspired neutral tones. On the opposite end bright mid-century tones are making a comeback. Test out a pop of color with trendy blues, pinks, reds or violets.

No matter what your style and taste may be, have a little fun and test out some new color trends in your home this year. That may end up being your favorite room in your home. Your home's color scheme plays an important part in creating a joy-filled space.

The 2022 paint trends are sure to bring more optimism into your space as we navigate out of uncertain times and into a time of positivity and comfort.
