Building Value in Our Community

April 10, 2020

Main Street Homes is locally owned and operated, and is consistently recognized as one of the top home builders in the Richmond area. This recognition goes beyond the home building process and customer satisfaction.

Main Street Homes believes in Building Value Our Community! This is at the core of everything we do. Our team loves giving back and throughout the year we partner with local business and fundraisers to make a difference where we can.

Here’s a look into some of our current ways we are giving back and a look back at our 2019 events we aim to bring into 2020.

Food Drive for Chesterfield Food Bank

Main Street Homes is hosting a Food Drive for the Chesterfield Food Bank through April 13th.  We are accepting canned and non-perishable items at our Model Homes and Main Office.

The Chesterfield Food Bank serves 1,800 people a week through 6 programs in Chesterfield County - Food on the Move, Kids Summer Food Program, Jefferson Davis Hot Meal Program, No Senior Hungry, Pantry Partners and Food Bank Headquarters, Chester.  Please help support our community!

Energy Star

Main Street Homes won the national award- ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award in both 2019 and 2020. We have been the MARKET LEADER of building ENERGY STAR certified homes in RVA for over 5 years.

Building homes that are better for the environment, community and our homeowners are just one way Main Street Homes Build Value Our Community.

Each Energy Star Certified home reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 3,700 pounds per year in comparison to a typical home. This is equivalent to the greenhouse gas emissions absorbed by planting 43 trees.

Realtor Luncheon

Main Street Homes celebrated at Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant with our top Realtors who sold multiple homes with us last year. This luncheon celebrates high performing realtors in our Realtor Rewards Club.

Trade Partner Annual Meeting

Main Street Homes thanked and celebrated their Trade Partners in March with our Annual Trade Partner Meeting & Breakfast. We had the chance to discuss past and upcoming goals with all of our trade partners and awarded our Trade Partner of the Year Award to Scott Kern with Kern Painting Services.

Puritan Cleaners Coat Drive

Main Street Homes collected  winter coats at our Model Homes and Main Office for families in need for the holidays. Gently used or new coats for adults, teens, children, toddlers and infants, in addition to winter accessories such as hats, scarves and gloves were donated.

Last year, Puritan Cleaners collected over 20,000 coats, washed and repaired them and delivered them to the Salvation Army for distribution to those in need living in Central Virginia.

Salvation Army Angel Tree Adoption

Main Street Homes adopted many Angels through the Salvation Army Angel Tree program over the years to support families during the holidays. In 2019, we adopted 4 siblings and provided clothing, shoes, coats and toys.

The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program has been running for over 35 years to ensure that these children have a wonderful holiday season with their families.

The Salvation Army Angel Tree Program is one of the largest in-kind corporate giving programs in the National Capital Area!

Back-to-School Supply Collection

Main Street Homes collected school supply donations at our model homes and Main Office. We also participated in the Back-to-School Expo with WRIC 8News at the Chesterfield Town Center Mall. The donations were given to three Title 1 Schools: Ecoff Elementary, Elizabeth Scott Elementary and Falling Creek Middle.

Charity Golf Tournament for the Harper’s Hope Fund with VCU

Main Street Homes hosted this charity golf tournament in 2017, 2018 & 2019 and raised over $250,000 for the Harper's Hope Fund for ALS with VCU Health benefiting research and treatment of the disease. All of the hard work and generosity have been in honor of Bobby Quinn, who's fighting spirit, in spite of ALS, has inspired the community.

Vernon’s Race car also has the ALS logo on it and Bobby Quinn has gone to his race.

Richmond Animal League

Main Street Homes partnered with Richmond Animal League for a donation collection to fill pet pails with supplies. Donations were collected at our Main Office and Model Homes.

Thank you for all of your partnership! We plan to continue Building Value Our Community! Be sure to stay safe and healthy during this time and we look forward to giving back more in 2020.
