Looking Back at 2023, A Year to Reflect at Main Street Homes

December 19, 2023

Vernon McClure founded Main Street Homes in 1996 with one goal in mind: to Build New Homes with Quality and Style. Since then, Main Street Homes has grown to become one of the largest locally owned and operated new homebuilders in the area. As we wrap up 2023, it's a moment of pride and reflection for us. This year marked a significant milestone as we constructed 455 homes, the second-highest annual figure in our 27-year journey. It’s not just about numbers; it’s about the families we’ve helped and the communities we’ve built. At Main Street Homes, we don't just build new homes; we believe in Building Value in Our Community. Our commitment extends beyond new home construction to nurturing the communities we are part of and people we serve.  We take pride in providing exceptional customer experiences and by treating our homebuyers as part of our own family.

To keep pace with our homebuilding growth, we expanded our dynamic team by welcoming 10 new members, each bringing unique skills and fresh perspectives. Our new additions include Josh Reish and Corey Vaccaro enhancing our land team, Lee Wake, Alyda Jones, and Alex Bittel bolstering sales, Lindsey Stork in human resources, Carson Miles in construction, Casey Forsythe in estimating, Sabrina Jacunski as our welcoming receptionist, and Ethan Corker keeping our accounts in check.

Building Communities Beyond Homes: Main Street Homes' Charitable Contributions in 2023

At Main Street Homes, we believe our responsibility extends beyond building homes. In 2023, we embraced the spirit of giving back by supporting charities that make a significant impact in our communities.

Supporting Goochland Cares

Throughout the summer, we organized a food drive collection for Goochland Cares, an organization dedicated to providing comprehensive, coordinated human services. The drive was held at our Lancaster Tuckahoe Bridge model home in Goochland County and at our home office in Midlothian, Virginia. In addition to the collected donations, Main Street Homes contributed $500 to help stock the pantry shelves of Goochland Cares. For more about our Goochland County community, visit Tuckahoe Bridge and learn about Goochland Cares here.

Fundraising for CARITAS

Our commitment to building value in the community shone brightly during our Fall Charity Golf Tournament. This event, aimed at supporting CARITAS, raised an impressive $97,000 to aid their mission of providing safe spaces for healing, rebuilding, and renewing lives. This significant contribution will support CARITAS in offering essential services such as clean beds, meals, showers, laundry, clothes, recovery and workforce education, and peer mentorship at no cost. These services, crucial for those who are uninsured, underinsured, or homeless, rely heavily on private donations. Karen, President and CEO of CARITAS, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donations that keep people safe and foster the journey from despair to hope. Learn more about CARITAS and their impactful work here.

Holiday Cheer Bags for CARITAS

In December, our team members embraced the holiday spirit by collecting Holiday Cheer bags for the Shelter and The Healing Place, initiatives of CARITAS. Each bag was filled with essential items like a new pair of pajamas and underwear, offering comfort and care to those in need during the festive season.

These charitable activities reflect our core belief in Building Value in Our Community, not just through our homes but through our actions and contributions that uplift and support those around us. As we look ahead, we remain dedicated to enriching lives and communities, one act of kindness at a time.

Let’s Take a Look at Homes Built and Sold in 2023

As of December, we're thrilled to announce that over 450 of our families have celebrated their home closing milestone and started a new chapter in their home built by Main Street Homes. Their favorite six floor plans included the Parkwood, Westbrook and Cary townhomes, and the Augusta II, Stuart and Jefferson single-family home floor plans.

In 2023, popular single-family home floor plans sold included the Augusta II, Lancaster, Jefferson, Treyburn III and Hartfield floor plans. Each of these floor plans offered something special that caught the eye of many of our homebuyers who felt their chosen design met their lifestyle. For those preferring the low maintenance townhome lifestyle, our Parkwood, Westbrook, Cary, Grove and Franklin were highly sought after this year.
